Pro JYM

We were given the Chocolate Cookie Crunch Pro JYM to put through it's paces, and boy are we happy they selected this flavour. We are often sceptical about chocolate flavours that are marketed to have an inclusion of another flavour, for it to then turn out to be your normal run of the mill chocolate flavour, but the team at JYM have not disappointed on this one. The cookie taste really comes through and then the inclusion of cooke bits takes it up to another level, adding a further dimension of crunchy texture, something you rarely see in a protein shake.
The texture of the shake itself is very creamy, achieved from both the addition of the non-dairy creamer and also because they use Micellar Casein, Milk Protein Isolate and Egg Albumin (egg white protein) as part of their exclusive protein blend.
Nutrition
Pro JYM is a protein blend of Whey Protein Isolate, Micellar Casein, Milk Protein Isolate and Egg Albumin, along with antioxidants plus creamers and flavourings to enhance taste and texture. Each scoop of Pro JYM delivers 24g of protein, and we really like how transparent they are on the protein source breakdown, which is as follows:
- Whey Protein Isolate: 7.5g
- Micellar Casein: 7g
- Milk Protein Isolate: 7g (5.5g Casein, 1.5g Whey)
- Egg Albumin: 2.5g
There are many benefits of choosing a protein blend over a pure protein source, the end product delivering a more well-rounded protein supplement, providing a more sustained supply of amino acids down to the varying absorption rates of each protein source, thus supporting continued muscle growth and maintenance.
Each serving of Pro JYM also providers 7g of carbohydrate (2g of which sugars), 3.5g of fat (0.5g of which saturates) and totals 160kcal of energy.
Timing
We truly are a big fan of this product, and importantly the ethos and quality that the guys at JYM believe and produce. They are absolutely transparent with their ingredients and protein content, with no protein spiking which some suppliers will do by adding amino acids to manipulate the protein content to a higher level, and they have really nailed the Chocolate Cookie Crunch flavour. We also reckon this would be amazing mixed up into a protein fluff, or used in other protein powder recipes.
We hope to be able review more flavours in the future so that we can pick our favourite!
