Taste
Available in 3 flavours; Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Peanut (our favourite!) and Real Raspberry, Myprotein's Oats & Whey are a delight to eat. The Chocolate Chip variety have real chocolate chips, Chocolate Peanut have real peanuts, and you've guessed it, Real Raspberry flavour have real freeze dried raspberries, which all combine very well together with the Oat Blend that Myprotein use in these flapjacks. The two chocolate varieties also have a chocolatey base that really does make these Oats & Whey Flapjacks feel like a treat.
Nutrition
So, we may be painting a picture that these aren't all that nutritious given their chocolatey taste, but that's not necessarily the case. Depending on which flavour you go for, you'll get up to 22g of protein per 88g bar, derived from Milk Protein and Whey Protein, and 43g of carbohydrates, of which just 2.6g are sugars. The Oat Blend comprises of Malted Oats and Rolled Oats which add 3.2g of fibre per bar.
Unfortunately the Myprotein Flapjacks fall foul of using palm oil, but this is quite common in protein flapjacks.
Each bar yields 315kcal of energy and this coupled with the carbohydrate serving make them ideal for someone looking to build lean muscle mass.
Timing
These protein flapjacks are a great nutritional snack for adding protein and carbohydrates to your daily intake. Consume in-between your main meals and around 1-2 hours before training as a source of energy.
Myprotein always deliver high quality products that are very competitively priced, so if you're on the look for a protein flapjack, this is a well worthy option!
